The Common Application for 2023-2024 is open! Join us! Students entering their senior year of high school are invited to register for an interactive Common Application Workshop led by Josie Bair, Executive Director of the OWjL Program at Ohio Wesleyan University. Students will complete their Common Application, learn how to build and finalize their college lists, and begin drafts of their college essays.<\/p>\n

Included in the workshop are 2 additional essay feedback and revision opportunities with a veteran high school and current college English and communication instructor.<\/p>\n

Session:<\/u>\u00a0 October 14, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (optional additional lab time 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.)<\/p>\n

Workshop fee<\/u>: $125 Payable\u00a0online\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0by check or money order to OWjL.
\nPayment deadline is 2 days before the workshop you’ll be attending.<\/p>\n

Location<\/u>: Ohio Wesleyan University campus, Room 303 in the R.W. Corns Building, 78 S Sandusky St, Delaware, OH 43015.<\/p>\n

Equipment needed<\/u>: None.\u00a0\u00a0Computers will be available for use, or bring your own laptop.<\/p>\n

Things for students to know before coming to workshop<\/u>:<\/p>\n

  1. Graduating Class Size<\/li>\n
  2. Class Rank (Exact, Decile, Quintile, or Quartile) \u2013 weighted or unweighted?<\/li>\n
  3. Grade Point Average (4,5,6, etc. scale?)<\/li>\n
  4. All courses being taken next school year<\/li>\n
  5. Scheduling system- Semester, Trimester, Quarterly, or yearly<\/li>\n
  6. Any honors received<\/li>\n
  7. ACT\/SAT Scores \u2013 Composite and specific scores for English, Reading, Writing, Math, and Science<\/li>\n
  8. Activities -Any and all<\/li>\n
  9. Any Covid-19 or natural disasters that have deep and\/or lasting effects<\/li>\n
  10. Any other details or circumstances not reflected in the application<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
