Dear OWU Parents and Families, Spring 2027 course registration is now underway, with Sophomores and first-year students scheduling their courses this month. You can play an important role by encouraging your student to prepare by meeting with their faculty advisor for guidance on course selection and to get authorized to register.
The official registration window opens based on the number of OWU units your student has completed (not those in progress):
- Seniors (23+ units completed): Opened Monday, October 26, 2026
- Juniors (15-22.99 units completed): Opens Monday, November 2, 2026
- Sophomores (7-14.99 units completed): Opens Monday, November 9, 2026
- Freshmen (0-6.99 units completed): Opens Monday, November 16, 2026
Three Ways to Help Your Student Prepare
To ensure a smooth registration experience, you might ask your student if they have completed these essential steps:
- Meet with their Faculty Advisor: This is the most critical step. Students must meet with their faculty advisor to discuss their plan and get authorized to register.
- Check for Holds: Students should check their Self-Service account for any financial aid, student accounts, or administrative holds that might prevent them from registering when the window opens on their assigned day.
- Build a Cart: Encourage them to select primary courses in their online cart before their window opens, and to have a few backup courses in mind just in case first-choice selections are already full.
