- A Growing Legacy: 113 squirrels were given names, and Penny’s social circle just got significantly bigger.
- Elevated Awareness: Student leaders stepped up to increase We Are OWU’s visibility while gaining hands-on experience with philanthropy and the impact of giving.
One of those student leaders, Samara Clarke ’27, served as the “Voice of Penny,” leading the charge to encourage her peers to give back. For Samara, that call to action is personal. “Donor support ignited the possibility of college for me,” she shares. “As a first-generation student, their generosity allowed me to be the first in my family to attend college.”
From scholarship support to the community hub at The 1842, donor generosity creates the spaces where students like Samara thrive. When we come together during We Are OWU, we do more than meet fundraising goals; we fuel the dreams of the next generation of leaders. Thank you for making these “firsts” possible!
