Spring events sponsored by OWU’s neuroscience club, Neurds

The neuroscience club, Neurds, successfully organized Brain Fair that took place on Thursday, March 23, to celebrate Brain Awareness Week. The event included 19 tables representing the combined efforts of 14 groups and organizations. The event was attended by over 60 individuals. The attendees enjoyed holding sheep brains, building circuits, playing Mindflex, and receiving brain-related giveaways. Neurds intends to continue to hold a yearly Brain Awareness Week event and encourages incoming students to get involved in the club to share what they love about the brain.

On Friday, April 14, in Merrick 301, Neurds presents a talk with OWU alum, Sharif Kronemer, Ph.D., titled “The space and time of visual consciousness in the human brain.” Dr. Kronemer is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD in the Section of Functional Imaging Methods. Dr. Kronemer completed a BA in Neuroscience and Philosophy from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2012. He later received an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University College London in 2013 and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Yale University in 2021.
