The Chaplain’s Office offers two great programs for a meaningful travel learning experience over spring break—Service Trips and Wilderness Treks. Applications for these trips will be available soon and are due on October 27.
This year’s three service teams will travel to Tampa, Florida, to partner with SBP for hurricane relief work; to the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, to learn and serve with the Lakota Nation; and to upstate South Carolina, to learn about the intersection of service and nature through volunteering in both urban and rural settings.
This year’s two wilderness teams will travel to central Colorado to learn rock climbing and hike in the Great Sand Dunes NP, and to the Ten Thousand Islands in southern Florida to kayak on the Gulf. Both Wilderness Treks involve outdoor learning and exploration of faith and spirituality. Encourage your student to check out these amazing spring break options! They will be announced in the OWU Daily in the coming weeks, and applications will be available soon.
