Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) Scholarship Opportunities

The Office of Financial Aid encourages students and families to consider several Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) scholarship opportunities for the next academic year. 2024-25 OFIC-Administered Scholarship Applications include:

Earl F. Morris Endowed Scholarship Program  https://www.ofic.org/smr/morris Deadline May 1.  $2,500 average award.  Supporting college seniors in 2024-25 who plan to continue studies in law school.  Pre-law is the intention, but not necessarily the major. 

  • Exclusively offered to OFIC member campus students
  • Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
  • Senior class rank for the current 2024-25 academic year
  • U.S. citizen, qualify for financial aid, full-time enrollment
  • Faculty recommendation

Nordson BUILDS Scholarship Program https://www.ofic.org/smr/nordson Deadline May 15.  $4,000 average award. Last year, Nordson Corporation awarded $500,000 in scholarships to nearly 100 students who expressed interest in a career in the manufacturing industry and/or corporate America. Nordson offers professional development for these scholars through “Lunch and Learn” events, and many scholars are even offered internships each year.

  • Interest in a career in corporate America and/or the manufacturing industry
  • Preferred programs of study include Engineering, Business, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Industrial Management, Information Technology, Biomedical and engineering-related STEM majors leading to a career in industry
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Live and/or attend a campus near a Nordson facility (Ohio Facilities are located in Amherst, Austintown, Dayton, and Westlake. There is no set distance, but students within 60 miles will receive preference)

Kroger Always Game Changers Scholarship (Available Feb. 15) https://www.ofic.org/smr/kroger-always-game-changers Deadline May 12. $2,000 awards. Scholars are eligible to participate in an announcement ceremony either virtually or in-person based on distance to the Cincinnati area during the LPGA Kroger Queen City Championship, Presented by P&G!

  • Be female, from an underrepresented background.
  • Pursue a business-related, sciences, technical and/or liberal arts undergraduate degree or certificate.
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Financial Need
  • Reside in participating Kroger Division

Butler-Wells Scholarship Fund https://www.ofic.org/smr/butlerwells Deadline April 1.  $2,500 awards 

  • 2.0 GPA
  • Resident of OH, PA, IN, IL (Preference for students from Piqua, Cincinnati, or Miami County, OH) and attending a campus in one of those areas
  • Financial need
  • Course of study must be related to specific career objectives
  • Demonstrated commitment to service
