Being a college student brings many opportunities for growth, self-discovery, and achievement. These opportunities can also be stressful and challenging at times. In addition, new college students commonly experience challenges related to anxiety, homesickness, and belonging. As your student navigates their college experience, they have many support services available to them at OWU at no additional charge. One such resource is OWU Counseling Services, where we offer short-term clinical services during the academic year. Depending on their individualized needs, Counseling Services can either provide or direct your student to the most appropriate resources for their mental health and wellness. Counseling Services also collaborates with campus offices and community agencies for outreach programming geared towards mental health-related promotion and prevention efforts. Appointment scheduling will resume during the first week of fall semester. Please have your student contact OWU Counseling Services at 740-368-3145 or counselingservices@owu.edu, or visit us in Corns 316, with any questions or interest in scheduling. Another option includes Uwill, a provider of virtual counseling appointments and wellness resources. To schedule an appointment, visit their website. For immediate assistance, contact their 24/7 phone line at 1-833-646-1526.
