Career Connection is a professional resource for ALL students. Parents and families, please encourage your students to schedule appointments on Handshake or come to Slocum Hall, room 207, for drop-ins and appointments.
Coming up is our Career & Grad School Fair on September 19 from 11-2 p.m. with ~90 employers/graduate programs! This is a great event for students of all years, especially Junior/Senior students looking for opportunities post-graduation. It’s something you won’t want your student to miss!

Career Communities are a great way to discover various career paths within each industry, network with employers and alumni, and learn about relevant events, courses, and job opportunities! We encourage students to explore multiple communities!
What career resources are available to students?
Some highlighted resources for parents & families to know about are:
- NEW Virtual Career Center: We offer a wealth of resources, career guides, job opportunities, professional associations, and helpful articles and links! This is a robust and engaging platform with all the tools and resources your child needs for career development at their fingertips!
- Alumni Partners Program: OWU’s extensive list of Alumni Partners who are eager to help students with their career and professional goals. Please feel free to contact these Alumni directly or email careers@owu.edu for assistance.
- OWU Strengths Assessment: An internationally recognized assessment for students to gain awareness of their top 5 Strengths! OWU offers this assessment FREE for all students!
- Handshake: Encourage your student to use our main platform for finding jobs & internships. This is also the platform used to schedule career advising appointments, register for events, and apply for on-campus jobs.
