Ohio Wesleyan University has been awarded a $30,000 Tech Cred training grant from the Ohio Department of Development to provide artificial intelligence training for 15 staff members.
The funding will enable OWU employees to participate in comprehensive AI workforce training through AI OWL, a Columbus-based company specializing in emerging technology education. The training will equip staff with essential skills to leverage AI tools and technologies in their daily work, enhancing their ability to serve students and support the university’s mission.
This marks OWU’s third successful Tech Cred grant in the past two years, demonstrating the university’s ongoing commitment to professional development and staying at the forefront of technological advancement. Brian Rellinger, Associate Provost for Academic Support, led the grant application process and played a key role in securing this competitive funding.
The Tech Cred program, administered by the Ohio Department of Development, helps Ohio employers upskill their workforce in high-demand technology areas. By investing in staff training, OWU continues to build a campus community prepared to navigate and harness the potential of rapidly evolving technologies.
