Mental Health Services and Support at OWU

As your student navigates the successes and challenges of being in college, OWU offers several resources for the support and promotion of mental health and wellness. OWU Counseling Services strives to assist our diverse population of students through various challenges affecting their mental health and wellbeing. Through a spectrum of services ranging from individualized interventions to community-wide prevention and collaboration, students can access the tools and knowledge necessary for continued growth, resilience, and wellness. Our services are at no cost to currently enrolled OWU students and include time-limited, goal-directed individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, advocacy, and outreach programming.

The OWU Student Health Center (partnered with OhioHealth) provides access to a psychiatric nurse practitioner for assistance with medication management. The Virtual Care Group (VCG) is another free option available to students for telehealth appointments with physical and behavioral health providers, as well as a 24/7 crisis and support line (1-855-522-1226). Your student may also have access to other telehealth providers through their insurance provider. OWU’s student health insurance provides access to AcademicLiveCare and CareConnect.
