The online, proctored exam is offered in June. It is designed for incoming students who have a<strong>\u00a0firm grasp of college-level introductory economics but do not have formal credentials (through expected AP, IB, A-Level exams, or transfer coursework) for automatic ECON 110 credit.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Primary topics covered in the exam are: Demand-supply graphs, marginal cost-benefit calculations, market structure and firm behavior, GDP analysis, inflation and unemployment calculations, and macroeconomic policy tools.\u00a0<strong>ACTION STEP:\u00a0<\/strong>If you intend to take the\u00a0exam, then contact Dr. Saif Rahman at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:msrahman@owu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>msrahman@owu.edu<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(with the subject line:\u00a0<em>Economics\u00a0Proficiency\u00a0Exam\u00a0&#8211; Registration<\/em>)<strong>\u00a0by June 5<\/strong>, indicating your intention to take the exam.\u00a0You should take this step only if you are committed to taking the exam in mid-June and have a good understanding of most of the topics listed above (covering introductory microeconomics and\/or macroeconomics).<\/p>\n<p>You will then receive follow-up communication with the online\u00a0exam\u00a0location and logistics. Be sure to monitor your OWU email for instructions.<\/p>\n<p>To take the online\u00a0exam, you will need to have a\u00a0primary audio\/video feed, a clear workspace, and a second device with an alternate-angle video feed.\u00a0<u>Note<\/u>: The\u00a0Economics\u00a0Proficiency\u00a0Exam\u00a0is\u00a0<strong>not a required\u00a0exam<\/strong>. It is\u00a0<u>not<\/u>\u00a0meant for students who have received or are in the process of receiving\u00a0ECON\u00a0110 credit on\u00a0the\u00a0basis of prior credentials.
