Some classes may have been full when you went to register. If you are were not able to add all of the classes you wanted at first, there are a variety of resources available to help.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. You can <\/span>contact your advisor,<\/b> who can recommend other courses that fulfill the same requirements or share the next time a course will be offered. Advisors may be teaching or assisting students during the day, so sometimes it may take a while to hear back. Rest assured, you will get a response.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. You can<\/span> contact academicadvising@owu.edu <\/b>if you have not heard back from your advisor in 48 hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. You can <\/span>waitlist the course<\/b>, then contact the professor to explain your desire to take the course and see if it is possible to enroll. This option may not be available if the classroom size, equipment, or instructional methods depend on the listed class capacity, but it is still worth asking.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. You can <\/span>attend the first week of the class in Spring<\/b>, even while you are still on the waitlist. Often, other students will drop a class once the semester has begun, and students who demonstrate they are still interested in the class get first dibs on adding.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Here are some other reasons you may have difficulty adding a course:<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. You put the main class section in your registration cart but not the lab (or vice versa).<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. There are seats in the main class section but the lab is full (or vice versa).<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. You have not met the prerequisite. (A prerequisite refers to a prior course or placement test score that is needed before taking a new course.)<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. You <\/span>have <\/span><\/i>met the prerequisite, but Self-Service is having difficulty recognizing it.<\/span>

      \n<\/span>If you encounter these sorts of difficulties, contact the instructor for assistance.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
