Many of you have asked, so here’s what you need to know about registering for classes as a new student.
Starting May 1, your OWU Portal will provide a link to take the self-paced online New Student Registration Course. Log in using your OWU username and password. You’ll learn about OWU academic requirements, take any needed placement tests, and complete the Pre-Registration Survey. This is not due until June 15.
Class registration itself takes place on July 7 and 8. This is when our team of advisors works behind the scenes to create a schedule for each student based on their answers to the Pre-Registration Survey. Students will not be present on these days but will have the opportunity to connect with an advisor soon after.
On July 9, you’ll receive an email from academicadvising@owu.edu (“Your Fall OWU Course Schedule”). This email will tell you where to go to check your schedule and how to meet with an advisor if you’d like to discuss or make adjustments to the initial schedule of classes that you were registered for.
The Office of Holistic Advising is here for you until–and after–your advisor is assigned in mid-August. Ask your advising questions by contacting the advising team at academicadvising@owu.edu.
