As you and your family prepare for college, you may wonder what options are available for your mental health and wellness. One such option is OWU Counseling Services. Our office strives to assist our diverse population of students through mental health-related challenges affecting their college careers. Students can access the tools and knowledge necessary for continued growth, resilience, and wellness through a spectrum of services ranging from individualized interventions to community-wide prevention and collaboration. Our services are at no cost to currently enrolled OWU students and include time-limited individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, advocacy, and outreach programming. While maintaining confidentiality, our office works closely with other campus departments to ensure that students are well-connected to other support and resources. We also recognize that students may have needs that require more intensive or specialized services than we can offer, for which we will assist in linking them to more appropriate resources. To help prepare for your mental health and wellness needs, check out this College Mental Health Checklist from the Newport Institute. For any questions, concerns, or interest you may have when you arrive on campus, please get in touch with us at 740-368-3145 or counselingservices@owu.edu, visit us at our office in Corns 316, or check out our website.
