New students can now view their Fall OWU class schedules. We hope you are excited about the topics you will explore during your first semester here! Please carefully read the FAQs below, then feel free to reach out with any questions.
How Can I View My Schedule?
-
Login to Self-Service. Your username will be the first portion of your email address (without the @owu.edu).
-
Click Registration -> My Schedule to view your schedule.
What Goes Into a First-Semester Schedule?
-
To receive your degree, you will complete courses in a major, courses in the general education curriculum, and courses in any subject to count toward the 34 units required for graduation. A typical first-semester schedule will not always include courses in your major.
-
Your schedule has been developed by a faculty and staff team that considered your interests, possible major, and requirements for earning a degree. The classes you checked on the Registration and Advising Guide are not your exact classes for Fall. However, all courses on your schedule were selected to help you start your OWU journey successfully.
How Can I Update My Fall Schedule or Ask Questions?
Here are a few options!
-
Would you like to add or swap a course?
-
Search classes by going to Self-Service -> Registration -> Courses.
-
Request to waitlist a full course or swap into an open class by emailing academicadvising@owu.edu. We’re happy to help.
-
If requesting changes, be sure to keep your first semester schedule between 4.00 and 4.99 units.
-
-
Is there a class you need to change based on transfer, CCP, or AP/IB credit?
-
Contact academicadvising@owu.edu. We’re happy to help with this, too.
-
Remember: To apply credit toward your degree, OWU must receive official college transcripts from the school where you completed college or CCP credit.
-
OWU must receive official score reports to apply credit for AP, IB, or other tests.
-
-
Do you want to discuss your schedule or other questions on your mind as an incoming student?
-
Option 1:Â Attend drop-in express advising as part of a Bishop Beginning event.
-
Option 2:Â Schedule a meeting with a Faculty Registration Guide (FRG).
-
Dates:Â July 2 – August 12, 2025
-
How: Review our FRG profiles. Then, use their scheduling link to book an on-campus or virtual appointment. Be sure to use your @owu.edu email, check the time zone, confirm the location (virtual link or on-campus location), and add the meeting to your calendar.
-
-
Option 3: Meet with your Faculty Advisor the Monday before classes.
-
Date:Â Monday, August 18, 2025
-
How: You’ll receive an email in mid-August with your faculty advisor’s contact information.
-
-
How Will I Register in the Future?
-
Once Fall semester begins, you will have until Thursday, August 28, 2025 to add/drop a class. Be sure to talk with your faculty advisor right away if you want to make a schedule change during the add/drop period.
-
In the middle of each semester, you’ll discuss future classes you’d like to take with your faculty advisor, and they will authorize you to register. You’ll then go to Self-Service to add classes to your cart and then register for them when your scheduling window opens.
-
Reach out to academicadvising@owu.edu if you ever need assistance scheduling or working with your advisor.
What About My Major?
-
Every incoming student’s major is listed as “Undecided/Undeclared” during the summer. If you indicated a major on the Advising and Registration Guide, we took that into account when developing your Fall schedule.
-
You can declare your major anytime from August 18 (when you first meet with your faculty advisor) through the end of your Sophomore year. And, yes, it is okay to change your major. 🙂
Best wishes on behalf of the entire registration team.
