A Brighter Campus is Taking Shape

You may notice construction in a few areas of campus this year, but it’s all part of an exciting investment in Ohio Wesleyan’s future.

Beginning this summer, crews are installing more than 10,400 solar panels across campus, along with wildflower gardens beneath many of the ground-mounted arrays to support local pollinators. Fencing will surround active work areas to keep everyone safe.

This fall, installation will continue with solar carport canopies in seven campus parking lots. Once the project is complete in fall 2027, the system is expected to generate 8.2 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy each year—reducing the University’s carbon emissions from purchased electricity by approximately 82%.

As a new Bishop, you’ll be part of a campus that’s investing in innovative solutions with lasting environmental impact.
