Check your midterm grades. If grades aren’t where you would like them to be, you still have half of the semester to go – you have the power to impact your academic outcomes by using new approaches and resources.
- Communicate with instructors
-
-
- Your professors care about you and your learning. They want to hear from you, even if you have missed classes, stopped turning in work, or failed exams or papers. Do not let the past keep you from future success.
-
- Meet with your academic advisor
-
-
- Your advisor is another part of your success team at OWU. Let your advisor know how things are going and ask to meet.
-
- Use academic and personal resources
-
- The Sagan Academic Resource Center (SARC) is your hub for academic success. Two resources you can utilize quickly are tutoring and academic skills.
Often, you can build a plan for success when meeting with your professors. However, if your professor meeting suggests passing is unlikely, talk with your advisor about whether withdrawing from that course could be a good option to allow you to focus on your other courses. Use the online change of schedule form to add/drop/withdraw. (Click the red OWU logo at the bottom to login.)
