Soon—but not quite yet—you’ll need to purchase course materials for your first semester classes. Please review this information recently shared with current students about how you’ll access course materials for the fall semester.
Ohio Wesleyan partners with BibliU to operate the OWU Campus Store and provide students with digital course materials each semester. Digital materials will be made available via BibliU’s Equitable Access (EA) program at a cost of $68 per item, per course.
If students opt out, they will need to purchase all course materials individually at the OWU Campus Store or source them on their own; EA does not accommodate students purchasing some but not all of each semester’s digital materials.
The total EA cost (at $68 per digital item) will be added to each semester’s billing statement.
What should you do right now? Read the FAQs and the information below so you are ready to purchase materials when the time comes.
What to expect for Fall Semester:
- Day-One Access to Digital Course Materials – With BibliU’s Equitable Access (EA), students get instant access to required digital course materials (eBooks, embedded codes, etc.) directly through Blackboard (OWU’s learning management system) from day one of class. (If professors require print materials, students will be able to purchase them separately at the OWU Campus Store or source them on their own.)
- Affordable Prices – EA cuts textbook costs up to 50%, so students will get their materials at a lower price compared to traditional options. The EA cost of $68 per digital item, per course will be added directly to their bill each semester.
- Opt-Out Flexibility & Print Materials – If students choose not to use EA, they can opt out each semester before the add/drop deadline. If they opt out, they won’t be charged for or have access to any EA digital materials. If they opt out, students will be able to source course materials independently or purchase them through the campus store. Print-only course materials and consumable items, such as lab supplies and art materials, will also be available at the OWU Campus Store.
- Comprehensive Reading Features – To support academic success, EA digital course materials include a global and content-specific search, text-to-speech audio playback, speed reader, automated referencing, and other convenient features.
- 24/7 Support – BibliU’s dedicated 24/7 customer support team is available to assist students with questions about their digital course materials at any time.
- Streamlined Campus Store – BibliU’s campus store launches in early June and will provide printed course materials, consumable items (like school supplies), electronics, and school-branded merchandise for everyone to display their Bishop pride.
