Summer School Hours for the OWU Libraries are now available. Please visit the following link, Summer School hours 2016 pdf, for a full listing.
On Thursday, May 11, at 10:00 am, the Libraries are turning off our current website and transitioning to one hosted on a new content management system. It will look and feel more like the campus website. Most of the functionality and navigation will remain the same. The timing of the change will provide those faculty teaching summer classes an opportunity to review the site before the beginning of the semester.
Highlights of the Change:
- The Libraries’ web address will remain the same: http://library.owu.edu/
- The links to Blackboard, Course Reserves, REACH (InterLibrary Loan), and LibGuides can be found under the Services link in the black toolbar at the top of the web page.
- Informational pages have been reorganized and are now all available from links in the black toolbar at the top of the web page. Direct links to informational pages will change.
- Direct links to electronic resources and tools will remain the same. You should not have any issues if you have bookmarked a link to a resource or tool or saved it in Blackboard.
Remember that if you can’t find what you’re looking for or are having a problem, you can email email@example.com or call 740-368-3225 for assistance.
With graduation fast approaching, please remember that most library items will be due soon. We ask that, if possible, please return library items by May 5th. Additionally, please know that failure to return library items by the due date can result in the withholding of your university transcript. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Pam Majors at 740-368-3226 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Starting on Monday, April 25th the Libraries will be extending their hours heading into finals week. For a full listing of hours, please visit the following link: Finals hours Spring 2016 pdf.
We have just been informed that access to CONSORT and being able to use our databases from off campus has been restored. If you experience any issues, please let us know at email@example.com or call 740-368-3225.
The Libraries extend a hearty congratulations to our five student employees who participated in the 2016 OWU Student Symposium. We are very proud of your accomplishments! Check out their photos.

Jacob Heil, Mellon Digital Scholar for the Five Colleges of Ohio, was named one of 2016’s Movers & Shakers by Library Journal. Here at OWU, Heil has worked with faculty and students on a variety of digital humanities projects in geography, religion, chemistry, and more.
In February, Dr. Paul Dilley from the University of Iowa gave a lecture entitled Between Alexandria and Babel: Building and Exploring Digital Libraries to the OWU community. Read Dr. Jacob Heil’s summary of the lecture to learn more about DH (aka Digital Humanities). Jacob is Mellon Digital Scholar for the Five Colleges of Ohio.
