OWU Libraries Reach (interlibrary loan) is the service that gives you access to the resources of other libraries. We are delighted to inform you that Reach has been upgraded! As a result, there is a new user interface for creating and managing requests and you may notice a few differences from the previous system. The new interface will show you all of your requests at once, along with links to scans of your requests. It also provides greater detail about the status of your requests and item due dates. Notification emails for Reach will look slightly different as well.
If you’re a current Reach user, please click here and follow the directions to log in to your new account.
If you’ve never used Reach before, email email@example.com to get started!
Stop by the Desk to enter the Amazon Fire raffle all day Friday 10.21. Winners will be announced on Monday 10.24. RSVP for the birthday celebration here.

New Database: The Congressional Serial Set
The Congressional Serial Set, including the American State Papers, is a series of reports and documents published by Congress. It’s called the Serial Set because it was published in serial fashion. It contains all House and Senate reports and documents published since 1817, Presidential messages to Congress, treaty items, executive branch publications, as well as digitized images of maps and illustrations. The Serial Set covers a variety of subject areas, including African American Studies, botany, history, law, political science and women and gender studies.
The library staff is happy to welcome students and faculty back to campus for the start of the 2016/2017 academic year!
Jillian Maruskin and Sarah Lucas (’16) have created an excellent new resource for LGBTQIA+ students at OWU. This comprehensive site includes information on how to find LGBTQIA+ books in library catalogs, a list of excellent websites, campus and off-campus resources, ally resources, and information on sex positivity.
This resource is available at http://library.owu.edu/lgbtqia_resources.
If you’d like to suggest additions to this guide, please email Jillian at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Summer School Hours for the OWU Libraries are now available. Please visit the following link, Summer School hours 2016 pdf, for a full listing.
On Thursday, May 11, at 10:00 am, the Libraries are turning off our current website and transitioning to one hosted on a new content management system. It will look and feel more like the campus website. Most of the functionality and navigation will remain the same. The timing of the change will provide those faculty teaching summer classes an opportunity to review the site before the beginning of the semester.
Highlights of the Change:
- The Libraries’ web address will remain the same: http://library.owu.edu/
- The links to Blackboard, Course Reserves, REACH (InterLibrary Loan), and LibGuides can be found under the Services link in the black toolbar at the top of the web page.
- Informational pages have been reorganized and are now all available from links in the black toolbar at the top of the web page. Direct links to informational pages will change.
- Direct links to electronic resources and tools will remain the same. You should not have any issues if you have bookmarked a link to a resource or tool or saved it in Blackboard.
Remember that if you can’t find what you’re looking for or are having a problem, you can email email@example.com or call 740-368-3225 for assistance.
