Rather than writing a traditional final paper, you&#8217;ll create a comprehensive synthesis document that combines all your completed work with thoughtful analysis of your learning process.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Formatting<\/strong> and other information on <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.owu.edu\/envs110-198-498\/project\/\">Main Project Page<\/a> under <strong>Essential Information<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Project Synthesis<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Name it:<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;Project Synthesis &#8211; [Your Name]&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Due<\/strong><\/span> Saturday, May 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Part A: Document Organization<\/h2>\n<h3>Project Synthesis Structure<\/h3>\n<p>Your final document should include all components in this order:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Assessment of Learning &amp; Process<\/strong> (3.5 pages &#8211; NEW writing)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chapter Review + Values + Topics<\/strong> (from Phase 1)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Annotated Bibliography<\/strong> (from Phase 2)<\/li>\n<li><strong>TPG Proposal + Budget<\/strong>\u00a0(from Phase 3)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Link to Presentation<\/strong> (from Phase 3)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Use the section headers<\/strong> (above, 1-5) so your instructor can navigate easily.<\/p>\n<p>Place the document in the shared folder and send an email to your instructor.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Part B: Assessment of Learning &amp; Process (3.5 pages)<\/h2>\n<p>This is the only NEW writing required for Phase 4. Review your work (Chapter review + values + topic ideas, Annotated Bibliography, TPG, Presentation), then answer these questions:<\/p>\n<h3>Research Process &amp; Topic Learning<\/h3>\n<p><strong>What You Learned About Your Topic (1\/2 page)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>How has your understanding of your topic evolved?<\/li>\n<li>What surprised you most in your investigation?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What You Learned About the Research Process (1\/2 page)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>What research skills did you gain (library databases, source evaluation, etc.)?<\/li>\n<li>How did the step-by-step process help you manage a complex project?<\/li>\n<li>What role did the science librarian play in the development of your project?<\/li>\n<li>Might you submit this TPG proposal? A different one?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>AI Worksheets and AI Collaboration (1\/2 page)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Have you used AI in previous work or courses? What was your experience?<\/li>\n<li>Did the AI Worksheets have an impact on your course project? In what way?<\/li>\n<li>Did AI help you learn, or did it just do work you should have done on your own?<\/li>\n<li>What recommendations do you have for the use of AI in this class in the future?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Integration Across Components (1\/2 page)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>How did your values assessment guide your topic selection?<\/li>\n<li>How did your annotated bibliography strengthen your proposal?<\/li>\n<li>How did all your work impact your final presentation?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Conscientiousness Assessment: \u00bd page:<\/strong>\u00a0Conscientiousness is the most important predictor of college success and workplace effectiveness. I know it sounds boring, but if you plan to do internships and have a career, you have to get your act together on this front.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Desire to do tasks well and take obligations seriously<\/li>\n<li>Efficiency, organization, and self-discipline<\/li>\n<li>Planned rather than spontaneous behavior<\/li>\n<li>Dependability and achievement orientation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">This class is designed to support your conscientiousness with schedules and guidelines and emails and me blah blah blahing over and over in class. But students often drop the ball.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Did you <strong>drop the ball?<\/strong> Or were you <strong>on top of things?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you <strong>dropped the ball<\/strong> \u2013 late stuff, not reading emails, missing meetings, missing stuff in assignments that are clearly indicated in the instructions (and me talking in class), why?<\/li>\n<li>Should I <strong>punish<\/strong> more? Assign grades accordingly? Be more strict (like really big grade drops for late work)? This kind of punishment bugs me. I should not have to do it. Would it work?<\/li>\n<li>For the d<strong>rop the ballers,<\/strong> let me know what, in addition to or instead of what I already do, you think would help.<\/li>\n<li>If you were on <strong>top of things,<\/strong> your success in these matters is a huge life skill. Do you get bored or annoyed by my attempts to instill conscientiousness? What would you tell your fellow students? What works for you?
