The Sturges Script is the official blog of the Ohio Wesleyan English Department. It is named after Sturges Hall, the home of the department.<\/p>\n

With its grizzled visage and shoe-worn steps, Sturges is among the most beloved buildings on campus. Like its namesake, The Sturges Script aims to be a home for writing by and about OWU English students and alumni, faculty and friends–a place where fellow “Sturgeans” can share stories and celebrate accomplishments. Through the Script, Serena is sharing her passion for great films, books, and humorous, fun subjects to explore and debate. Serena loves reading and writing fiction and poetry. Outside of school, she enjoys watching films and walking her dogs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When she’s not reading or writing, she can be found walking or hiking with her dog, doing embroidery, watching TV shows, or impulse buying used books.<\/p>\n

\"\"Zack Long is the faculty supervisor of The Sturges Script. While not teaching Shakespeare, the history of theatre, and literary and cultural criticism, he can be found continuing his deep dive into the fiction of Haruki Murakami, watching “Hacks” with his wife, and replaying the Dark Souls\u00a0<\/em>trilogy.<\/p>\n

Using the Script as an anchor point for an independent study, Colleen<\/span> is combining her interests in environmental topics and writing while exploring new journalism techniques. Outside of school, Colleen<\/span>\u00a0is a member\u00a0of the Field Hockey team and English Student Board.<\/p>\n

She works for the History Department and serves on its Student Board. Nora Domino was Managing Editor and Writer for the Sturges Script in Fall 2023. She was a Senior majoring in English Literature with a minor in Sociology. When not busy with school work, you can find her curled up with a good book, a cup of tea, and her cat, Evelyn. Nora enjoys learning new piano songs and finding late night inspiration for poetry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simone Southers was Managing Editor for the Sturges Script in Spring 2023. They were a Senior Psychology major with a minor in English who always had some story to tell. When not crocheting to video essays, they can be found studying foreign languages or going out on mini adventures with friends. They enjoy spacing out while listening to music and scribbling ideas for future projects.<\/p>\n

When not engrossed in a new book, you’re likely to find them on the pitch playing for the OWU Women’s Rugby Team or spending time with their cat, Moby.<\/p>\n

When she is not looking for a new favorite short story, you can find her writing her own, watching new movies, or complaining about how much she misses her dog.<\/span><\/p>\n

When not posting on the department Instagram, she could be found volunteering at the Delaware Humane Society, compiling a list of every dog she will own in her lifetime. She enjoys steamed broccoli and donuts and loves going to performances of any sort.<\/p>\n
