Congratulations to Courtney Peterson (Early Childhood) and Stephen McGrath (Adolescent & Young Adult, Social Studies), the 2018 recipients of the Promising Educator Awards!<\/p>\n

The Promising Educator Award is given to one major and one minor in the Education Department, and determined by a committee of faculty and student board members, based on the following criteria:
\n– Instructional Excellence.
\n– High level of commitment to the education profession, going above and beyond requirements.
\n– Professional behavior.
\n– Outstanding peer mentoring and leadership.
\n– Completion of student teaching and eligibility for graduation.<\/p>\n

Courtney and Stephen received a copy of Letters to a Young Teacher by Jonathan Kozol, and were honored at the department-wide student teaching reception last week.<\/p>\n
