The Delaware Police Department is pleased to offer the following community events:<\/p>\n
On Thurs.,<\/span>\u00a0Feb. 1, 2018, 7 p.m.<\/span>, at Ham-Wil in the Benes Rooms,<\/u>\u00a0the police department will present the first in a series of community discussions:\u00a0The Delaware Police Department and Response to Resistance<\/u><\/strong>. Members of the department will present information on the \u201cwhen\u201d and \u201chow\u201d local officers use force to overcome resistance. Topics will include: policy, training, differing levels of force and the department\u2019s force review process. This is a public event; no registration is required. The Delaware Police Department\u2019s response to resistance policy is available here:\u00a0http:\/\/bit.ly\/DPDRTRPolicy<\/a>.<\/p>\n A\u00a0Response to Resistance Experience<\/strong>\u00a0will be offered\u00a0Sat., Feb. 3, 2018<\/span>, at the Delaware Police Department<\/u>. Participants will receive information regarding the proper application of force by police officers to overcome resistance and will experience a hands-on, response-to-resistance experience by way of a video simulator.
