If you did\u00a0not <\/strong>receive\u00a0<\/strong>Friday’s “shelter in place” advisory, you might\u00a0need to sign up\u00a0for OWU ALERT emergency notifications.<\/p>\n

To sign up, verify that you are signed up, or update your contact information:<\/p>\n

  1. Log into your myOWU<\/em> account<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Hover over the \u201cMenu\u201d option (the 3 black bars) in the upper left-hand corner.<\/li>\n
  3. Select \u201cQuick Links.\u201d<\/li>\n
  4. Choose the appropriate links box — “Student Links” or “Faculty and Staff Links” based on your status.<\/li>\n
  5. Click the\u00a0\u201cOWU Alert Info\u201d link and complete the form with your preferred email, telephone, and text-message contact points. (If the form is populated with your data, you should be enrolled.)<\/li>\n
  6. Click \u201cSubmit changes\u201d to record your information. (You may update your data at any time. The system is refreshed weekly on Friday nights.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Students, please note: If — in addition to yourself — you enroll your parents or guardians in the OWU ALERT system, only you<\/strong>\u00a0will be able to update their information or remove them.<\/p>\n

    In addition to OWU ALERT emergency notifications, the University also sends email-only “Timely Warnings” (with time-sensitive safety information that does not require immediate action) and email-only “Public Safety Advisories” (general safety information). You will receive these messages outside of the OWU ALERT system.<\/p>\n
