Miguel Martinez-Saenz, a Cuban-American, is provost and vice president for academic affairs at Otterbein University. His grandfather, Joaquin Martinez-Saenz, gave his life for his country by initiating a clandestine group in 1930\u2019s Cuba to fight a dictator, by working on Cuba\u2019s Constitution of 1940, by serving as President of the National Bank of Cuba, and by serving significant years in prison.<\/p>\n
The Great Decisions Discussion Program, a free community discussion series, is designed to encourage debate and discussion of the role of the United States in world affairs.<\/p>\n
All Great Decisions discussions will be held at noon in the Fellowship Hall of William Street United Methodist Church, 28 W. William St.<\/strong> Attendees are welcome to bring a brown-bag lunch. Complimentary coffee and tea will be provided.<\/p>\n Following each discussion, participants will have the option of completing a quick survey\u2014prepared by the Foreign Policy Association\u2014to add their opinions to thousands of others across the nation. The survey results will be made available to local media and sent to Washington, D.C., so that the community\u2019s voice is heard by federal decision-makers.<\/p>\n
