Everyone is urged to take\u00a0steps\u00a0to remain warm and safe. Here are tips from the OWU Student Health Center and information from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/weathersafety.ohio.gov\/WindChillIndex.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">weathersafety.ohio.gov<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">How to Dress During Cold Weather<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing. Trapped air between the layers will insulate the body. Outer garments should be tightly woven, water repellent and hooded.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Wear a hat because 40 percent of your body heat can be lost from your head.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Cover your mouth to protect your lungs from extreme cold.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Mittens, snug at the wrist, are better than gloves.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Try to stay dry and out of the wind.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">\u00a0<b>What is Wind Chill Temperature?<br \/>\n<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><br \/>\nThe wind chill temperature is how cold people and animals feel when outside. Wind chill is based on the rate of heat loss from exposed skin caused by wind and cold. As the wind increases, it draws heat from the body, driving down skin temperatures and eventually the internal body temperature.
