You are cordially invited to a free screening of Céline Sciamma’s ‘Girlhood,’ presented in French with English subtitles. Introduction and discussion will be led by students Ornella Bisamaza, Onyinye Okoli, and Victor Soder. Set in the impoverished Paris banlieues home to many of its French-African denizens, ‘Girlhood’ focuses on Marieme, a sixteen-year-old who assumes responsibility for her two younger sisters while their mother works the night shift.
