TODAY! Alumnus Talks About Using Microscopy to Create Art

Thomas “T.H.” Saunders ’66 creates unique art by growing and photographing microscopic crystal structures made from wine, coffee, and aspirin – and an endless array of materials whose basic chemical components can be extracted and isolated.

Hear him talk about the science of his art during an illustrated artist talk at 4:10 p.m. today, April 7, in the Bayley Room of Beeghly Library. His presentation will be followed with a reception in the library’s Gallery 2001.

An exhibit of Saunders’ work, “Crystal Synergy: The Confluence of Science and Human Imagination,” is on display now in both Gallery 2001 and in the Mowry Alumni Center’s Alumni Gallery. Read more about Saunders and his art.
