If your class or pedagogy needs something new, there are many small, time-saving changes to get students engaged and improve learning. The Chronicle of Higher Ed series “Small Changes in Teaching” (https://goo.gl/ffbdGQ) offers many simple ideas, including brief activities for the first/last 5 minutes of class, strategies to connect content to the outside world, empowering students in their own learning, promoting metacognition, and more. As we explore these simple strategies amidst so many deadlines and commitments, we might also find ourselves reinvigorated and refreshed for the classroom.
