The Dictator’s Granddaughter on Dec. 4

A play by David Desola and performed by Estela Harretche and Ellen Kaplan.

Having just returned to the unnamed country where her grandfather ruled as absolute ruler, his innocent
Granddaughter finds him on his death bed, his cronies held for crimes which she finds unimaginable.
Estela Harretche and Ellen Kaplan are professors of Spanish and Theatre at Smith College in Northampton, MA. They are also accomplished actresses and have translated the play, which they will perform in alternating English and Spanish. The 60-minute play has five scenes. The breaks in the scenes and changes in language follow developments that occur in the main character over time.
