The 2017 Richard W. Smith Lecture in Civil War History takes place tonight in Benes A-B at 7:30 p.m.!
Guest lecturer Dr. Joan Waugh will deliver this year’s lecture on “U.S. Grant : Soldier and Statesman.” Dr. Waugh, of the UCLA History Department, specializes in the Civil War, Reconstruction, and the Gilded Age. Along with being an award-winning author, she’s been interviewed for many documentaries, including the PBS series “American Experience” and the History Channel’s production of “Lee and Grant.”
