In December OWU will be submitting a pre-proposal to the Howard Hughes Medical Institute for a $1M five-year grant aimed at attracting, retaining and enhancing the success of underrepresented students in the sciences. Professor Jim Swartz is visiting this week to discuss a similar initiative at Grinnell. In addition to his talk on Thursday afternoon from 4:10-5:00 p.m. in SCSC 161, Prof. Swartz will guide three open sessions for faculty and staff on Friday:
