On-Campus OWU Summer Job: Writing Intern

The Office of University Communications seeks to hire a part-time, 10-week, paid summer intern with demonstrable writing experience (news, feature, or promotional). The intern will fact-check current sections of the Ohio Wesleyan website, as well as develop new content.

The intern also may write news and feature articles for the monthly online Connect2 OWU newsletter.

Guidance on voice, tone, messaging, and preferred copy-editing styles for writing assignments will be provided. The ideal candidate will pay meticulous attention to detail, including grammar and spelling; be knowledgeable about the University; and be comfortable writing for audiences ranging from casual to formal.

The student will work closely with the Communications Office writing and editing team and complete the internship with a portfolio of work.

Experience in photography or photo editing is a plus. Knowledge of Associated Press style is a plus. Applicant should provide links to samples of work, and list any relevant coursework, and/or work experience.

This internship is ideal for any student with a career interest in journalism, marketing, or advertising.
