Fine Arts Alumnus to Discuss His Acclaimed Art Foundry, Business of Art, Oct. 29

OWU graduate Jeb Wood will discuss his work and art foundry business at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. in the Bayley Room of Beeghly Library.

Graduating in 2000 with a BFA, with concentrations in sculpture and metals, Jeb was hired as a sculptor by the acclaimed art foundry, Johnson Atelier, in Mercerville, NJ.

When Johnson Atelier closed, Jeb started his own business, “Independent Castings,” in Philadelphia, which has grown into a major art foundry on the East coast.  Clients include contemporary artists Kiki Smith, Tom Otterness, Michelle Oka Donor, and Hans Haacke.  This year, Independent Castings cast Haacke’s sculpture “Gift Horse” for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, London.

Jeb’s talk, titled “The Devil is in the Details,” will focus on his work and the business of art. Please join us for this special event.
