The FBI has issued a press release warning University employees of a targeted email scam which attempts to compromise employee payroll self-service account information in order to redirect an employee’s direct deposit payment to a fraudulent bank account. This threat has not been detected at OWU, but users at other institutions continue to fall victim to the scam. Awareness is a key factor in preventing this type of fraud.
