April 4 – ‘The Handmaiden’ at International Queer Film Fest Finale

Park Chan Wook’s latest masterpiece “The Handmaiden” is premiering on campus as the grand finale to OWU’s First International Queer Film Festival on April 4 at 7 p.m. in the Benes Rooms! A widely critically acclaimed film “The Handmaiden” tells the story of Sook-hee, a young Korean woman hired to be the handmaiden of a reclusive Japanese Lady during colonial Korea. Sook-hee secretly plans to rob Lady Hideko of her inheritance with a con-man pretending to be a Japanese Count, but things take wild twist. Warnings for explicit sexual content and violence.
