March 8 – “Beowulf” Marathon Reading

This Thurs., March 8, join the Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance Studies Department for a marathon reading of “Beowulf” (Seamus Heaney translation). To help prepare for our guest lecture after break, we will be meeting in Crider Lounge at 5 p.m. for an oral reading of the poem.

Following the old traditions of epic storytelling at a feast, free food will be provided! We’re expecting the entire poem to last 3-4 hours, so feel free to stop in for as long as you can. Hope to see you there!
