Feb. 26 – Straight Talk: A Panel about Advocacy, Intersectionality, and Civil Issues

The Black Student Union invites you to Straight Talk, a panel about advocacy, intersectionality, and civil issues. During this event, students will have an opportunity to ask questions and have candid conversation. A mission of the BSU is to create an environment where difficult conversations can be had in a healthy and safe way. We want to open such a discussion to all folks on campus.

In light of Black History Month and the social state of our nation, this is an opportune time to have this panel. Some topics may include: intersectionality, mass incarceration, colorblindness, post-racial, mass deportation, and sexuality.

Our panelists will be:

Lisa Ho, Associate Chaplain.
Charles Kellom, Assistant Dean for Multicultural Student Affairs.
Paul Dean, Professor of Sociology/Anthropology.
Sally Leber, Director of Service Learning.
Khadija Adams ’04, Management Analyst for the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
