Because there is little anti-human trafficking material for youth, Theresa Flores, a trafficking survivor and the founder of S.O.A.P., and Gina Saltz, director and co-founder of The Hope and Liberation Coalition (HLC), have created an opportunity for young adults to prevent human trafficking by creating short videos/films/PSAs for “youth made by youth.” Winning selections will be distributed to Ohio schools, colleges and universities, youth groups, and additional organizations for FREE.
Ohio residents ages 10-24 are eligible to enter short video or film submissions by 8 p.m. May 8th, and/or to attend the FREE Film Festival on June 17, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at The Gateway Film Center in Columbus, Ohio. It’s an Open House event, and seating is limited. A private reception for 12 finalists and their families and supporters will be held 7-8:30 p.m.
Individual and group videos/films accepted. For contest requirements, short video examples, age-appropriate resources and email access to advisors, please visit www.soapforhopeyouthfilmfest.com.
