Millennial Activism and Spoken Word Lecture on Feb. 12

What does youth activism look like today? Can spoken word and slam poetry be forms of social justice activism? To hear more and share your thoughts, come learn about the research of our visiting speaker, Dr. Valerie Chepp.
Dr. Chepp is Assistant Professor of Sociology and Director of the Social Justice Program at Hamline University. She is also a qualitative researcher and ethnographer studying intersectional and cultural approaches to inequality, art, and social justice. Her work focuses on race, gender, feminism, hip-hop, and spoken word poetry.
