The Gift of Garbage: Ethnographic Curiosities of Value, Waste, and Infrastructure. Presented by Dr. Robin Nagle.
Dr. Robin Nagle is the Director of the Draper Interdisciplinary Master’s Program within the Graduate School of Arts and Science at New York University. Her research considers the category of material culture known generically as “garbage,” with an emphasis on the many forms of labor and infrastructure it requires and the organizational demands it imposes on urban areas. Nagle is the author Picking Up and anthropologist-in-residence for New York City’s Department of Sanitation.
