Orange is the New Black Author to Speak at OWU; Discounted Student Ticket Sales Begin Oct. 1

The Friends of the Delaware County District Library (DCDL) is bringing Piper Kerman, author of Orange is the New Black, to Delaware for a presentation Jan. 20 in Gray Chapel.

Kerman will give a 45-minute lecture on her memoir about the 13 months she spent in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, CT.  In her compelling, moving, and often hilarious book, she explores the experience of incarceration and the intersection of her life with the lives of women she met in prison.

Her lecture begins at 7 p.m., followed by audience Q&A. Books will be available for purchase at the event, and book signing starts at 8:15 pm.

A limited number of discounted ($20) student tickets go on sale on Oct. 1, 2015, through eventbrite.com. Tickets sales will open to the public Nov. 1 for general admission ($25) and priority seating ($35).
