Welcome to spring semester, Bishops! Ohio Wesleyan uses the OWU ALERT system to inform you of emergency situations (including weather delays and closures) using email, text, and (optional) voice messages.<\/p>\n
Once an emergency is determined, the University will send an OWU ALERT email to your owu.edu email account and a text message to your cellular phone of record. (Because of the vital nature of these communications, you are auto-enrolled for both of these OWU ALERT formats \u2014 emails and texts.)<\/p>\n
You are able to add additional contact points \u2014 text, email, or voice \u2014 by logging into your myOWU<\/a> gateway and following these instructions<\/a>.<\/p>\n Please note:<\/strong>\u00a0You are unable<\/em> to edit your owu.edu email address or cell phone number from the \u201cOWU Alert Info\u201d screen. If you\u00a0 need to edit these contact points:<\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 –Students<\/strong><\/em>, please email cell phone corrections to\u00a0registrar@owu.edu<\/a>. Students, please note: If you enroll parents or guardians, only <\/em>you<\/em><\/strong> are able to update their information or remove them.<\/em><\/p>\n In addition to OWU ALERT emergency notifications, the University also sends email-only \u201cTimely Warnings\u201d (with time-sensitive safety information that does not require immediate, emergency action) as well as email-only \u201cPublic Safety Advisories\u201d (general safety information).
