You should have received at least 2 messages from us: an email to your owu.edu email account and a text message to your cellular phone of record (if your number is in OWU&#8217;s records).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these 2 messages, you are able to review other contact points you&#8217;d added previously or add new contact points\u2014text, email, or voice\u2014by logging into your <a href=\"https:\/\/my.owu.edu\/\">myOWU<\/a> gateway and following the instructions below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click the \u201cMenu\u201d option in the upper left-hand corner, select \u201cQuick Links,\u201d and then\u2014based on your status\u2014use either the \u201cStudent Links\u201d or \u201cFaculty and Staff Links\u201d to select \u201cOWU Alert Info.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Review your \u201cMy Contact Information\u201d to ensure that any pre-loaded data are accurate. Hover your mouse over a row of data to enable the edit and\/or delete functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong>\u00a0You are <em>unable<\/em> to edit your owu.edu email address or cell phone number from the \u201cOWU Alert Info\u201d screen.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 &#8211;Students<\/strong><\/em>, please email cell phone corrections to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:registrar@owu.edu\">registrar@owu.edu<\/a>.<br \/>\n<em><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 &#8211;Employees<\/strong><\/em>, please log into the ADP Portal and use the \u201cMyself,\u201d \u201cMy Information,\u201d and \u201cProfile\u201d links to update cell phone information.<br \/>\n&#8211;For owu.edu email issues, please contact the Information Systems Help Desk at <a href=\"mailto:helpdesk@owu.edu\">helpdesk@owu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Next, from the \u201cOWU Alert Info\u201d screen, use the \u201cAdd Email\u201d and \u201cAdd Phone\u201d buttons at the top of the screen to enroll other emergency contact points (such as parent or spouse information). When finished, remember to <strong>click \u201cSave\u201d<\/strong> at the bottom of the screen to make your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Students, please note: If you enroll parents or guardians, only <\/em><strong><em>you<\/em><\/strong><em> are able to update their information or remove them.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If your cell phone carrier requires an opt-in reply before you receive your first OWU ALERT text message, the response is <strong>Y OWU<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you enroll for cell phone voice messages, please program your phone to recognize an incoming call from <a href=\"tel:740-368-3411\">740-368-3411<\/a> as an urgent OWU ALERT.<\/li>\n<li>Contract personnel and others campus workers without owu.edu email accounts are encouraged to complete this downloadable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.owu.edu\/files\/resources\/owualertpaperenrollmentform.pdf\">enrollment form<\/a> and submit it to their supervisor to be enrolled in the OWU ALERT system. (Supervisors, completed forms should be returned to the Information Services Help Desk in the R.W. Corns Building.)<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cOWU Alert Info\u201d page also includes a left-hand link for \u201cSubscriptions.\u201d Currently, Ohio Wesleyan uses the system for an \u201cemergency\u201d subscription only, and so you are unable to make edits in this section.<\/li>\n<li>For OWU ALERT questions not answered here, please contact Cole Hatcher in the Office of University Communications at <a href=\"mailto:cehatche@owu.edu\">cehatche@owu.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to OWU ALERT emergency notifications, the University also sends email-only \u201cTimely Warnings\u201d (with time-sensitive safety information that does not require immediate, emergency action) as well as email-only \u201cPublic Safety Advisories\u201d (general safety information).
