Most people only protect their accounts with a password. However, with 2-Step Verification, you\u2019ll protect your account with your password and your phone. If a bad guy manages to steal or guess your password, he\u2019ll also need to have your phone to get into your account.<\/p>\n

We recently enabled this on OWU BishopApps to provide additional protection. It is recommended that you enable it on your account, which consists of receiving a text message with a code to access your account on a new computer\/device. It\u2019s easily enabled or removed.<\/p>\n

Here’s how:
\n\u2013 Login to your email account at\u00a0mail.owu.edu<\/a>.
\n\u2013 Click on your profile (circle icon) in the top right corner of your browser.
\n\u2013 Click on \u201cMy Account.”
\n\u2013 Click on \u201cSigning in to Google\u201d under Sign-in & Security.
\n\u2013 Click on \u201c2-Step Verification\u201d on the right.
\n\u2013 It\u2019ll likely ask you to enter your password again just to be safe.
\n\u2013 Follow the prompts to enable the feature and provide your cell phone number.<\/p>\n
