Over the next few months, this new service will roll out to select employees, allowing us to retire one of our aging, unsupported phone systems.<\/p>\n<p>While many employees will continue using their traditional desk phones, others will transition to the new Zoom software solution. If your phone setup is impacted by this change, we will contact you directly with more information as the service rolls out.<\/p>\n<p><b>Zoom Meeting License Updates<br \/>\n<\/b>As part of our new contract, we must be judicious in assigning full Zoom Meeting licenses to manage costs effectively. On\u00a0<b>Friday, Aug. 28<\/b>, we will move users who have not\u00a0<i>hosted<\/i>\u00a0a Zoom Meeting over the past year to a &#8220;Basic&#8221; license. We will also begin\u00a0<b>requiring all users to use Single Sign On (SSO)<\/b>\u00a0to log in.<\/p>\n<p>If you are transitioned to a Basic license, please note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Joining Meetings:<\/b>\u00a0You can still join any Zoom meeting without restrictions.<\/li>\n<li><b>Hosting Meetings:<\/b>\u00a0You can still host meetings, but they will be limited to 40 minutes in duration.<\/li>\n<li><b>Requesting a Reversal:<\/b>\u00a0If you are assigned a Basic license but absolutely require a full license for your work, please contact Brian Rellinger at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:barellin@owu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">barellin@owu.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Google Meet: A Free Alternative<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, all OWU employees have full access to\u00a0<b>Google Meet<\/b>.
