The English Department, in collaboration with the Richard M. Ross Art Museum, is excited to present Lesley Wheeler as the next visiting author for the Visiting Writers Series. Her reading will take place at the Richard M. Ross Art Museum at 4:15 p.m. on March 18.<\/p>\n
Lesley Wheeler’s sixth poetry collection is\u00a0Mycocosmic<\/em>, published by Tupelo Press in 2025. Her previous poetry collections include The State She’s In<\/em>,\u00a0Radioland<\/em>,\u00a0The Receptionist and Other Tales<\/em>,\u00a0Heterotopia<\/em>, and\u00a0Heathen<\/em>. She has also published the nonfiction book\u00a0Poetry’s Possible Worlds<\/em>\u00a0and the novel\u00a0Unbecoming<\/em>.<\/p>\n Recent poems and essays appear in\u00a0Poetry<\/em>,\u00a0Best American Poetry 2025<\/em>,\u00a0Poetry Daily<\/em>, and\u00a0Poets & Writers<\/em>. Wheeler’s writing has been supported by Bread Loaf, the Sewanee Writers Workshop, Fulbright (New Zealand), the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Virginia Commission for the Arts. Poetry Editor of Shenandoah, Wheeler is the Henry S. Fox Professor of English at W&L University.<\/p>\n The reading will be followed by a Q&A and a book signing.<\/p>\n This event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
