We are sad to share that former OWU staff member Pam Besel passed away Oct. 20 in Upper Arlington, Ohio.<\/p>\n

Her family shares that Pam lived a full and giving life while dealing with Type 1 diabetes before she \u201cjoined her family, friends, and met her golden retrievers and miscellaneous pets at the rainbow bridge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pam worked at Ohio Wesleyan for 34 years, serving under four presidents between 1981 and 2015. Throughout her decades-long career, Pam served in roles that included serving as the editor and senior writer for the award-winning OWU Magazine, helping to plan the University\u2019s annual Mother\u2019s Day commencements, and contributing her expertise to countless publications and public relations projects.<\/p>\n

Pam\u2019s family also shares that, for much of her life, she enjoyed avid and active tennis at the Olympic Racquet Club and Northam Park, typically captaining and organizing matches.<\/p>\n

Please join us in offering our sincere condolences on Pam\u2019s passing to her husband of 50 years, Mark; their daughter, Megan Adair \u201900, and all of Pam\u2019s many family members and friends.<\/p>\n

Funeral services for Pamela Dennis Besel will be held at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 23, at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, 334 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. Read more<\/a> and share memories or condolences online.<\/p>\n
