Our institutional\u00a0representative\u00a0from Earlham’s\u00a0Japan Study<\/a>\u00a0&\u00a0Border Studies<\/a> programs, Roger Adkins, will be on campus on Tuesday, Oct. 1.<\/div>\n

Established in 1963,\u00a0Japan Study<\/a>\u00a0is one of the oldest and most comprehensive programs in higher education exchange between the United States and Japan. Based at Earlham College, Japan Study links member colleges of the Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA) and the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) with Waseda University in Tokyo.<\/div>\n

Located on the southern Arizona borderlands, the\u00a0Border Studies Program<\/a> examines a host of issues that are coming to define the 21st century. In this context, the program created a structured, dynamic, semester-long program that allows students an immersive engagement with topics including transnational migration, \u200bneo-liberal globalization, the militarization of policing, struggles for environmental justice, ethnic studies, gender studies, Indigenous rights, organizing, activism, and movement building.<\/div>\n
