The test was the first sent to all registered alert recipients using OWU\u2019s new 911Cellular software system.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are working with the vendor to address a few delivery issues, including a CPS (calls per second) setting that kept some of the voice calls from connecting. Fortunately, the system is redundant in that all OWU ALERT emergency messages are sent as voice, text, email, and app messages. A total of 98.5% of texts, 99.6% of emails, and 92% of all app messages were sent successfully.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you did not receive an expected text or app message, please take the following steps to verify and, if needed, update your OWU ALERT enrollment information:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students: Ensure that your cell phone number is correct in your official OWU student record. (If you need assistance, contact the Registrar\u2019s Office at registrar@owu.edu.) If you have parents and guardians who wish to receive emergency notifications, they should text the word OWUalertFamily (not case sensitive and no spaces between words) to 58843.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Faculty and staff: Ensure that your cell phone number is correct in ADP. If you have partners and spouses who wish to receive emergency notifications, they should text the word OWUalertPartner (not case sensitive and no spaces between words) to 58843.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All: If you have not downloaded the CampusShield app, download it now (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.campus_shield&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=US\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Android<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/campusshield\/id1019136154\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">iOS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) for access to safety systems including OWU ALERT push notifications.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After we have thoroughly reviewed today\u2019s test results, we expect to conduct a second test this semester. We will notify you in advance if this happens.
